Document Expectations
Manuscript Structure
General Formatting: Please ensure the text of your paper is double-spaced and in a single column. This is an essential, peer-review requirement. Twelve-point font and one-inch margins are typically expected. Number the pages of your manuscript. Do not include any other running headers or footers. Footnotes are allowed but should be kept to a minimum.
Contents: All manuscripts must contain the essential elements needed to convey your research, such as Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Literature Review / Theory Development, Materials / Data Collection and Analysis Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions. Divide the article into clearly defined sections. Tables and figures should be included at the point of reference (not at the end), with corresponding captions placed directly below the figure or above the table. JOM does not have strict page limits, but most submitted manuscripts should not exceed 40 pages. Longer manuscripts are often frowned upon by review teams, and a manuscript’s contribution is often judged relative to its length. Very long manuscripts will be returned to authors for streamlining before going into the peer review process.
References: There are no strict requirements on reference formatting at submission. References can be in any style or format as long as the style is consistent—however, using the journal’s referencing style (which may be observed in any recently published paper) is preferred. Where applicable, author(s) name(s), journal title/book title, chapter title/article title, year of publication, volume number/book chapter, and the article number or pagination must be present. Use of the DOI is highly encouraged. The reference style used by the journal will be applied by Wiley at the proof stage. Missing data will be highlighted at the proof stage for the author to correct. In-text citations should include the page number in the source of any quotations or particular points.
Title Page Structure

Rights / Protections
Copyright and Licensing
If a paper is accepted for publication, the author identified as the formal corresponding author will receive an email prompting them to log in to Author Services, where via the Wiley Author Licensing Service (WALS) they are required to complete a copyright license agreement on behalf of all authors of the paper. Authors may choose to publish under the terms of the journal's standard copyright agreement, or Open Access under the terms of a Creative Commons License. If the Open Access option is not selected, the corresponding author will be presented with the copyright transfer agreement (CTA) to sign. The terms and conditions of the CTA can be previewed in the samples associated with the Copyright FAQs. If the Open Access option is selected, the corresponding author will have a choice of the following Creative Commons License Open Access Agreements (OAA):
Creative Commons Attribution License OAA
Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License OAA
Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial - NoDerivs OAA
To preview the terms and conditions of these open access agreements, please visit the Open Access Agreements page hosted on Wiley Author Services.

Data Protection
By submitting a manuscript to or reviewing for this publication, your name, email address, affiliation, and other contact details the publication might require will be used for regular operations of the publication, including, when necessary, sharing with the publisher (Wiley) and partners for production and publication. The publication and the publisher recognize the importance of protecting the personal information collected from users in the operation of these services and have practices in place to ensure that steps are taken to maintain the security, integrity, and privacy of the personal data collected and processed. You can learn more here.
Author Name Change Policy
In cases where authors wish to change their name following publication, Wiley will update and republish the paper and redeliver the updated metadata to indexing services. Our editorial and production teams will use discretion in recognizing that name changes may be of a sensitive and private nature for various reasons including (but not limited to) alignment with gender identity, or as a result of marriage, divorce, or religious conversion. Accordingly, to protect the author’s privacy, we will not publish a correction notice to the paper, and we will not notify co-authors of the change. Authors should contact the journal’s Editorial Office with their name change request.
It is the responsibility of all authors to notify the journal about any change in affiliation that may take place during the review process (not afterwards).
